As a someone nearly 70, I have Rheumatoid Arthritis (and a few other concerns). As part of my on-going treatment/care, at my last appointment with him, my named Rheumy Specialist Nurse referred me to Podiatry.
Today, I was seen by Podiatrist Joseph, and Nurse Jessie, at Ayrshire Central. From his opening 'Hello my name is Joe and this is Jessie' through to 'I'll be in touch with you very soon', I was treated with care, respect and courtesy.
I wasn't rushed. I was given time to explain how I felt - without interruption. I felt comfortable and was able to express myself.
After the examination we agreed on a plan for the way forward. This included inserts to my footwear, some intermediate exercises I can do in the meantime and possible directions for the future. This may include speaking to the 'Falls Department', Physio etc.
This could not have been better.
My thanks to all concerned - including 'Admin' who operate appointments etc in the background.
