my husband was transferred from a & e in halifax to Huddersfield about 4 a.m and was eventually on the surgical assessment unit. he then went to ward 8 but on the 3rd day on there his health deteriorated rapidly. There was an intensive care nurse on ward 8 who saw what was happening, he was transferred to intensive care about midnight.
He spent 8 days on the unit and the care could not have been better, he was then moved to ward 15 where again he was given the help to enable him to get out of bed and eventually walk.
We also had first class service from the physios, ot and dietician. we both want to say a big thank you to the ICU nurse on ward 8, thank goodness she was there, and to everyone else who helped my husband to regain his health.
"Exceptional care in intensive care and on ward 15"
