I am writing to express my gratitude and appreciation of the excellent treatment I received at the DVT clinic. At 9.30am my doctor at my local surgery decided that a potential DVT needed investigating, so he phoned the Infirmary and was able to make an appointment for me at 12noon that morning. In the DVT clinic I was welcomed sensitively and kindly by a Nurse. She took my blood with "one plunge", which was very unusual because I had been sent away from other medical centres who were unable to recover any blood from my veins. I was very grateful that this could be done in this clinic since I had previously been sent from another LRI department to a central blood test centre which involved a considerable walk and queuing. The Nurse then was able to make an appointment just an hour later to have an ultra-sound scan. There I was treated with great delicacy and the operator explained the process most interestingly and encouragingly as it went forward. I was so impressed with the speed, organisation, sensitivity and efficiency of all the staff and would never fail to recommend clinic for its excellence. I was unable to report at the time as the equipment needed recharging so this is coming from my home computer.
"An excellent visit to the DVT clinic on Friday..."
