I was admitted to Ward 2 of Airedale General Hospital on 10 February 2015 after a blood test that I had had the previous day at my doctor's surgery revealed that I had a very high PSA count. The attention that I received from everybody was absolutely first class. I was seen by many different consultants and doctors and all were extremely professional but also treated me as an individual. They all explained the situation very clearly and were happy to answer any questions. The nursing staff were brilliant - again 100% professional but also very approachable and kind. The positive attitude that I encountered seemed to apply to everybody - even the catering staff were friendly, helpful & cheerful. As I benefited from the attention I received, I began to realize that the organisation & logistics of a major hospital is extremely complex and must be very difficult to manage. All I can say is that Airedale have got it right and I am very thankful that my local hospital operates at such a high standard.
