Admitted to Chesterman 3 in February 2015. Hated everyday of my 8 nights on Chesterman 3. Talking about patients within earshot of other patients was common practice with a few of the staff. The support workers at lower level need more people skills. The food was disgusting, I was on soft foods only and was given a meal that I wouldn't have fed to my dog, the smell and taste was disgusting, the support worker told me I had to eat it but couldn't so I asked if I could have soup instead. They went away and told the sister they should make me eat it and it's ridiculous me refusing food. I wish they would have eaten it, the sister also said some derogatory remarks about me which I thought was totally unprofessional when I could hear everything they were saying about me. The cleaning staff were rude and there were only about 4 clinical staff that were a credit to the hospital and their uniform. I hope I am never admitted to this ward again. I had to ask what every tablet they gave me was for as no information was given to me. People said I would be looked after in Northern General but unfortunately they were wrong, I have received much better care in Barnsley Hospital in the past as the care given to me and kept informed on treatment leaves Sheffield Northern General in the shadows.
