My 90 year old father was recently admitted to Queens Hospital in Romford via A&E on three separate occasions for different problems. Firstly onto Amber B then CCU and finally Mandarin A. In each case the staff and treatment that he received were second to none. He was treated with dignity and the staff always introduced themselves to my dad at all times and made him feel confident in his care. He told me that the nursing staff were angels - high praise from soneone who does not give out compliments easily! We as a family were kept informed at all times as to what was going on and everything explained in full. Although staff were always busy they always had time for us. Perhaps I should also acknowledget the staff in A&E. On each of the separate occasions although the staff were obviously very busy we never felt that we were neglected in anyway. I know that Queens does not always receive good press but I can only speak from experience when I say that over the years I have never had a problem at the hospital and I feel that this could and should be reported more than it is - although good news does not sell newspapers does it?!
