I had a physio appointment today at the Arlington Centre after the room my physio used at Pinhoe surgery was given over to the nursing staff. I must say I thought the place was dreadful. The waiting room was only big enough for 4 chairs - very claustrophobic (where are people suppose to wait if more than 4 are waiting as it would be embarrassing just standing in such a pokey room) and there were bits of paper and dust on the floor. The room where my physio saw me was just a glorified hospital ward with a bed, chair and pull around curtain. It was hard to concentrate on what they were saying as you could hear everyone elses conversations with their physios going on at the same time. When I was asked to do one of my exercises there was no room to raise my arm as the curtain was in the way. I found the whole situation quite stressful and felt very sorry for the physios and their patients. I was also told by someone there that when all the physios are working on a given day that there is not enough space for them to see their patients so one has to do computer work and they have a backlog! What utter utter nonsense!
