I have been in this hospital regularly for several months now, and most of the staff from nursing to domestics are excellent, but their are a quite a few who obviously do not like their job and tell patients to hurry up and they don't have time do to personal care, and it would appear are only there for the money, Having asked for a few basic things to make our relative's life a bit more homely only to met with the regular cry of " it's a rented building owned by Walker Timber"- The staff members concerned would do well to remember that this is their home and not an acute receiving unit and furthermore they the owners are getting well paid for this use of this building and not doing out of the goodness of their hearts.
The staff with the issues should realise that the patients should be their priority and not a pile of bricks and mortar, as it would appear to be.
Furthermore from what I have seen I am concerned that some people in the care of certain staff here are given a varying degree of care, especially patients who do not have regular visitors and unable to speak up for themselves.
I think the calibre of staff could be improved.
