Following up from our not so good experience at QE II and better service by the Ambulance service we arrived at LISTER - AMU. We were there from around 23:30 till 05:30 the following morning 13th Saturday. The nursing staff, support staff were very help and supportive. The Doctor attending was very keen to help us and make our son comfortable. As parents we were exhausted and even offered coffee. From there we were transferred to SSU - Strathmore ward. We arrived around 05:30 on Saturday morning. We felt every one around wanted to make us feel comfortable. Since then for the next two days, we have visited our son 4 times during the visiting hours. We are truly surprised by the dedication the staff at Strathmore ward. It was unbelievable. We learned some of them were working 14 - 16:30 hours. They are an amazing bunch of very sincere people deserve national level recognition for the service. One of the patient in the same ward could not be saved by the team and we saw the pain in their face. They felt sincerely sad, they could not save him. You guys in this ward are an amazing bunch of citizens of this great nation. You changed our negative perception about NHS. We are really proud of you and keep up your good work.
