I was taken to the A&E department of Watford General Hospital after an attack of anaphylaxis. Upon my arrival I found the reception staff polite and efficient but found they lacked an understanding of the severity of anaphylaxis hence a delay of 10 critical minutes.
Although I experienced a slight problem at the A&E reception desk I was treated by the members of staff with a caring and understanding attitude.
The entire A&E staff were professional and executed protocols for my emergency swiftly and with skill.
I was also very impressed with their caring nature and the way in which they took the time to listen to me even though they were very busy.
I have been to many hospitals, state and private within and outside the UK and can honestly say that the level of medical care, specifically the nursing care at Watford General Hospital is excellent. The hospital and many of its facilities are old and dated but the standard of care being delivered is second to none and I would rate its members of staff highly.
I do hope this hospital is awarded more government funding as it could possibly make its 'walls' up to the standard of its staff.
