Waiting to see a Doctor for 27 hours
I was admitted to Brantham Ward on the Wednesday morning the 5th of August 2015 following an appointment with my GP earlier that morning. Due to the fact I was coughing up blood.
Brantham Ward looked after me me well carrying out a series of blood tests.
Later I was transferred to Capel Ward for further assessment, I did not see a doctor for the next 27 hours, I feel this is third world treatment, it was appalling for any type of assessment .
On the morning of the 6th of August I went for a CT Scan at 9.40 am I was still coughing badly and still bringing up more blood. A doctor did not even look down my throat, or see the blood, no sputum test was taken, I got the result of the ct scan some 8 hours later
I was discharged feeling a lot worse than when I went in the ward the whole experience was very upsetting I felt also I was battling a form a ageism, I consider myself as others do as an intelligent 74 year old
I have sent a letter with far more details to the Chief Executive of the Ipswich Hospital, with names of staff etc., and a lot personal data about myself , of which I feel I can not put on a public site. For some reason I could not rate this experience but I will tell you no stars for the Doctor and their team on Capel Ward
