First Ward: The staff are very compassionate and innovative in terms of using current evidence based therapies such as reminiscence therapies. However, I feel there wasn’t enough staff to meet patient’s needs. Additionally, I feel risk wasn’t always minimised, for example leaving SU who are at risk of falls in the dinning room by themselves I feel to minimise risk there should be staff allocated for each room of the ward.
Aquarius: A strong Manager who is very supportive and passionate about working with child and adolescents with MH problems. I always felt supported as student nurse by the manager and the nursing team. The team is very forward thinking in terms of applying evidence base research into practice such as DBT and family interventions.
