The NHS receives so much bad press that I thought it only right to let you know of my experience on Willoughby Ward following the removal of my gall bladder because of pancreatitis.
The nurses throughout my stay could not be faulted but I would like to mention one nurse in particular.
This nurse(who, by the way, gave me no favours but treated me as they did all the other patients) could, in my opinion, be a candidate for Nurse of the Year.
They were always efficient in the way they carried out their duties but, at the same time, was compassionate, caring and seemed to make time to speak to each patient without giving the impression of being in a constant rush.
They never 'spoke down' to a patient but treated each as a human being in need of a little kindness and understanding.
I congratulate all the nurses on Willoughby Ward and would like to thank them again for helping to make my stay more than bearable.
