I have recently had a replacement hip on Ward 9 at Castle Hill Hospital.
Although I was extremely nervous I was put at ease straight away,
I found all the staff very helpful and happy to address any worries or concerns that
I had.
I cannot fault the care I received and the attitude and professionalism of the staff.
The time passed quickly and there was a nice atmosphere on Ward 9 and able to engage in some much needed banter which made you feel relaxed and happy after undergoing surgery.
I even found the food to be good and feel that some people have unrealistic expectations. I even gained weight which says it all really.
I have to mention my Consultant who was excellent.
From my first appointment to the aftercare after surgery.
They visited me every day on the ward even taking me down for my x ray to help support staff who were very busy.
I would have no hesitation in recommending them or coming under their care again.
If I had any recommendation it would be to speed up the process of having your prescription written up by a Doctor on the ward.
This process took all day and even though I was given the ok to go home at 10am it took until 7.30pm that night before I was able to go home and that was with constant asking which I was uncomfortable with.
I would like to thank all the staff on Ward 9 for their kindness and care and for making my stay in hospital so much nicer than I thought it would be.
I have to have two further surgical procedures and I have no hesitation in returning to the care of the Castle Hill Hospital Staff.
Thank You
"Ward 9 Excellent Care"
