I was diagnosed with endometrial cancer just under three years ago. They were the scariest days of my life. I'd never had any health issues and was low risk of endometrial cancer. The period between my tests and diagnosis wasn't brilliant, but after diagnosis the response from Blackpool Victoria hospital was fantastic. I had surgery after only 2 weeks and was home recovering 2 days after my hysterectomy.
I was looked after so well by my consultant Mr Yagoub who was brilliant.
I will always remember a wonderful nurse on the surgical unit, who looked after me on the morning of my surgery. Can't remember her name, but she visited me on the ward the day after. , Must add that the staff of Ward 15b were also great.
My after-care and follow up with my cancer nurse specialist Lorraine and now Debbie has been excellent. Thanks so much to all concerned!
