I was in the Brierly Ward, Northern General in May for COPD (Chronic Obstructive Pulmonary Disease). They listened to what I felt, I was treated as an individual, the nurses were very helpful and supportive, nothing was much trouble.
Although under one doctor, I was seen by three doctors on three separate days. I felt it was confusing, often I repeated myself, and in some cases some of the information was conflicting.
The home medication I was recommended by the consulted was disputed by the nurse.
One thing I found annoying was having to give the same information to 4-5 people(e.g. ambulance, A&E, Medical Assessment Unit, Brierly Ward) surely this could have been passed on.
Secondly could I suggest money could be saved, if I hadn't been dismissed with so much medication, that I already had at home.
But overall I would like to say a big thank you for making my stay so comfortable, and giving me the confidence to return home feeling much better.
