I recently had a small op, and was put into the surgical ward to recover for 1 night.
Before I give feedback on areas for improvements, I would just like to personally thank all the nurses, doctors and surgeons who assisted me - you are all doing an amazing job. The service provided in this ward is of excellence and I am ever so thankful for how well I was looked after throughout the time spent here; I was communicated with well and was made to feel very comfortable.
Just a couple of things to note:
- When I arrived, I let the receptionist know that the toilet soap needed to be replenished, and just before I left it still hadn't been done, so I had to let them know again. Perhaps this could be checked more regularly?
- Communication could be improved between professionals. It didn't bother me too much, but I had to repeat the same information quite a few times to different people - do professionals not share patient information?
Apart from these minor points, all in all, the service was great. I feel very happy in that if I ever need surgery again, I would be content to be on this ward again. Bravo NHS.
