"Excellent care from ward 10, A Fantastic team!"

About: Northumbria Specialist Emergency Care Hospital

I would like to say a big thank you to all the staff on ward 10 at the new cramlington hospital. The ward was very clean, the food was lovely and the staff were incredible- an asset to the national health service. I would like to say a special thank you to the young nurse who was on duty when i first arrived, they were so welcoming and a breath of fresh air, nothing was too much, it was lovely to see a smile light up the room. There was a difficult patient in the room next door and i could not help but notice their patience and compassion. That night I was very poorly, I could not breathe and was very frightened to say the least, The nurse acted quickly yet reassured me throughout giving a real calm presence in what was a very scary situation. Another special thank you to an auxiliary who along with the nurse made an old grumpy man very happy when they gave me a sing along in the morning whilst getting me dressed. Great personalities- they made my day! It was great to see all the staff get along so well together, respecting each other and the patients. All so professional yet friendly. whilst in hospital you have a lot of time to look and listen, and I did not realise how much the doctors and nurses had to deal with. You are all worth your weight in gold! To the nurses and all the doctors on ward 10 cramlington, thank you for saving my life.

Dear anonymous

I am sorry that it appears as though you have had to wait for a response – we are having an issue with NHS Choices notifying us when people have posted comments onto the site and we are liaising with them regarding this.

Thank you so much for taking the time to get in touch with your kind comments. I very much hope that you are feeling better now and have made a full recovery.

It’s heartwarming to hear that all of our staff that you came across were as caring and compassionate as we would expect them to be. I know that all our staff work incredibly hard and it’s lovely to hear that you experienced this teamwork, professionalism and kindness along with good humour.

I will make sure that all the ward staff are aware of your kind words, it will mean a great deal to them.

With warmest wishes

Claire Riley, director of communications and corporate affairs
