The anaesthetist Jonathan was excellent at Pinderfields, after I broke my ankle. He had brilliant bedside manner and general information.
The ward (f ward) was full of old people who I thought should have been in a geriatric ward. As a result I had no sleep throughout my stay.
I think also that there was a distinct lack of nurses. I had to pester for bed pans for other patients, some times it was too late. Pressing the alert button was a complete waste of time. It was easy to determine the dedicated staff from the others, not on caring for me , but me as a bystander taking it in.
I appreciate how much work the nurses have to do and in my opinion they are worth much more than they get paid for. I would like to thank all the catering staff, great people, also thanks to Rose, who took care of me during my stay.
