"Splinter in sole of child's foot"

After days of me attempting to remove a painful splinter from the sole of my child's foot, e.g. magnesium sulphate, Savlon, tweezers, warm bath etc., I took him to Chase Urgent Care. My child could barely walk due to the pain.

After an expected long wait, the Dr looked at my child's foot and told me they would not remove it. The doctor said removing it would involve using an anaesthetic, cutting a large chunk of skin off, which could then result in infection. The doctor said the splinter would come out on its own within 2 weeks.

I then took my child to Finchley Walk-In Centre. A nurse removed my child's splinter in 5 minutes! The nurse did not use an anaesthetic, or cut out a chunk of skin. The nurse used sterile wipes and a small needle. Job done!
