I damaged my shoulder and went to Rotherham General A&E on the 9th July. I was refused an X-ray and diagnosed that it was just badly bruised. This was very upsetting, they said an X-ray was not necessary. When I was examined and repeatedly asked for an X-ray I was told it was not necessary. I then suffered two weeks of pain at home, my shoulder was no better. I visited my General Practitioner Dr. R. C. Collinson, who immediately sent me to hospital for an X-ray where it was found to be dislocated . Mr. McCormick, who was in A&E this time and was superb, came and finally I was admitted to ward B3. But the shoulder by this time could not be manipulated and consequently I needed surgery and spent five days in hospital. I do not know the prognosis at the moment, but it seems I will need long term therapy to recover. For a man of 79, this is not a good thing! However, I would like to thank Mr. McCormick from A&E and the nurses who attended me and then admitted me to B3.
