Urgently referred (not emergency) to ENT Department for orbital decompression to prevent further eyesight loss.
Mr White (Consultant) telephoned me himself the evening he received the referral and arranged for his secretary to contact me the next day with details of admission. His secretary Michelle contacted me the very next morning having arranged admission for me to Ward 26 that evening in order to get urgent surgery carried out. Mr White has the ability to communicate with his patients and help them feel at ease and gives you the information you need to make an informed consent to treatment. His secretary was very pleasant and explained what I needed to know on the phone.
All staff on Ward 26 provided a first class service, providing me with support and care during a time when I felt very frightened and vulnerable. Contact with all staff within the CT scanning department and the Eye Clinic was also all of excellent quality. When a porter was not available at short notice to take me to the CT scan, the consultant Mr White pushed me down there himself in a wheelchair (WOW what service! )
Post operative care was exceptional and despite all staff being very busy, the quality of care I received on Ward 26 etc was outstanding.
I am the first to complain when things don't go well but fairs fair, the care I received was tremendous and I thank you staff involved with real gratitude. They made my stay as stress and pain free as possible. Thank you.
