I am not usually a person who leaves reviews but after going into wrightington on Monday 20th June for a Ganz osteotomy and spending 5 days there I thought I would share my experience.
As an extremely anxious and frightened patient, I have been under the care of the doctor for about 2 years. The doctor has been nothing but supportive and calming on every anxious visit I had to outpatients. When I was told I was elegable for the Ganz surgery I was both hopeful (it would relieve some of my hip pain) but also terrified of being in hospital and having people care for me.
I really had nothing to worry about! Every member of staff I saw, whether dealing directly with me or not, was friendly and helpful! I was treated with dignity and respect at all times and spoken to like a person not just a number! My nurses were fantastic! Absolute gems! People who really deserve more credit than they get! The catering staff were lovely, the cleaning staff, the physios, every single person I came across made me feel like they wanted to help me not that they were there because they had to be. I was moved from High dependency to Ward B and nurses were even popping in to see how I was getting on during the week! These staff definitely deserve a lot of credit. They have no idea what their helpful and warm smiles everyday did for a very anxious patients frame of mind!
"A great hospital with amazing staff!"
