"Hannah and Sean were kind and compassionate"

About: South Western Ambulance Service NHS Foundation Trust / Emergency ambulance

(as the patient),

I had a heart attack and Hannah and Sean manning Marlborough Ambulance 917 turned up to check me out and transport me under blues and twos to the Great Western Hospital in Swindon.

Given the rather worrying circumstances they were great, keeping both me and my worried wife calm and feeling secure in their care.

Hannah and Sean were kind and compassionate: they told me what was happening and when, and what to expect when we got to the GWH.

Later that morning they called by my cubicle in A&E to check I was okay which was really nice of them and greatly appreciated.

Thanks guys! If you read this, then - in the nicest possible way - I hope our paths don't cross again professionally! But it's good to come on here to let others know that Hannah and Sean not only know their stuff but clearly care for the patients they attend to.

Hi SN8

Thank you for taking the time to share your story. I hope you are recovering well.

It is always rewarding to hear stories of how our staff are delivering care and support to patients when they need it most.

We would be happy to share your story with the ambulance staff involved in your care, however to do so we will need some specific information. If you would like us to do this, please may I ask you to contact us on either plaudits@swast.nhs.uk or 01392 453 831 and a member of the Patient Engagement Team will be happy to help you further.

Thank you, again, for taking the time to provide us with feedback.

Kind regards

Sara
