What I liked
The total professionalism which turned my first experience of major surgery (heart bypass)into a routine and almost pain free event.
From initial consultation to admission, pre-op, surgery, intensive care, after care and discharge I was never less than 'very impressed'. I was treated with respect at all times by all staff and the flow of information was excellent. Everything was explained to me and my own questions were answered with confidence and professionalism. There was a calmness about the place but things moved at pace and it was clear that processes/procedures were well understood by all staff and were well executed.
What could be improved
The hot food isn't great - but who cares, it's about the quality of care not the menu. Enjoyed my Tikka Madras when I got home though!
Anything else?
Quite simply the standard of care I received was outstanding. I am now 2 days into convalescence at home and feel a million dollars. My wife cannot believe that a week ago I hadn't even had the surgery.
Reading other posts, some patients may not have had such a positive experience but in my own case it was outstanding.
