What I liked
I am a newly diagnosed type I Diabetic, and would like to share my experiences of the Diabeticare Centre.
I have been most impressed with the care and attention that I have received in this unit. Without exception all members of this team from Consultant through to receptionist have treated me with utmost respect and courtesy.
My diagnosis came as quite a surprise, so I have had a lot to take in and understand quite quickly.
Both Consultant and the Lead Nurses have taken the time to explain my diagnosis and treatment options in a way that I can understand and gven me sufficient information and the opportunity to be part of any decisions made. I have never been made to feel 'silly' for asking for explanations to be repeated or for asking questions.
It would be very easy to generate a 'conveyor belt' mentatlity when staff are dealing with the same condition and probably similar questions all the time. However, this is certainly not the case here, I have always felt as if I have been treated as a individual with my own unique set of worries and concerns, as importantly that they have time if I pop in or ring up with a query.
A truely great team and experience, they are giving me the confidence to manage my condition.... Thank you !!
