There has been no one thing that I wish to write about. I feel that when something good happens, it should be acknowledged.
Over the last several years I have been a patient at Rossdale Resource Centre in Pollok, Glasgow. Throughout my time there I have been various levels of ill and well and have had a lot of staff input from different disciplines. I have been an inpatient too at the associated hospital. I wish to highlight the care from my Consultant Psychiatrist, Dr Graham. At no point since I have been attending Rossdale have I felt out of the loop regarding my care. Her thorough, learned, consistent understanding, compassion, encouragement, gentle and honest method of practice has allowed me to go from strength to strength. I have always been part of any decisions made both as an inpatient and outpatient. It's always ensured I am aware of how valuable my input is and of how important two way honesty is. My family are continually supported where appropriate too. I feel so cared for, understood and supported by Dr Graham and I'm so grateful for this. I believe her approach to me and my care has enhanced my wellness and recovery no end. Saying the words 'Thank you' just don't cut it when it comes to expressing gratitude for such care. I am aware for many people within mental health services this level of care is not the norm, but this care does exist and when it does, it shines out above any negative experiences - also which I have had, not involving Dr Graham, in fact she has been the one to resolve any difficulties encountered. The rest of the team working with Dr Graham too have offered unconditional support to me and I am most grateful for them too. Particularly my CPN.
