I researched various hospitals fo find the shortest waiting list and best care and came up with Westmorland General.
On the 24th May I had a most satisfactory consultation and was told that the wl was three months.
I have looked daily, also hopefully, for the date to be confirmed to no avail.
So some time inAugust I telephoned the waiting list department and was told that the waiting list was more like five months but that I might expect to be sent for for the beginning of September.
At this point I announced that I was going to be on holiday from the 22nd October for five weeks.
Yesterday I telephoned to see if there was any progress and I was told that there was nothing available until beginning of October.
As I had been unable to find any information about contraindications to flying, I asked about this and was told that one should not fly for three weeks after cataract removal!
As I am struggling and have developed a problem with contact lenses (which were helping me with driving etc) I find this most frustrating and disappointing to say the least.
As I am an ex NHS employee I do understand some of the difficulties.
