"PMB Clinic and day case surgery"

About: Russells Hall Hospital / Gynaecology

I was referred by my GP to he Post Menopausal Bleeding rapid access clinic. Throughout my time in the clinic, I was treated with consideration and respect and at no time felt rushed or confused as to what was happening. Staff were friendly, helpful and kind. I was then referred to the daycase surgery unit for a hysteroscopy and curettage under general anaesthetic. I have a terror of general anaesthetic! The anaesthetist took time to explain to me exactly what would happen and helped allay some of my anxiety - in the event, the whole thing was problem-free. Staff in the unit were truly exceptional, again taking time with patients, always kind and considerate. I was so impressed with the care I received at both of the units I visited. My special thanks to the Nurse in the PMB Clnic and to Student Nurse in the Day case unit, both of whom were brilliant.

Thank you, Valerie, for posting feedback about your experience of Russells Hall Hospital. It is great to hear that you were impressed with the care and treatment you received from our staff throughout your visits. We understand that coming into hospital and having a general anaesthetic can be a nerve-racking experience so we are pleased to hear that our anaesthetist was able to put you at ease. We have passed your lovely comments onto the teams and would like to wish you all the best for the future.
