"Recovery college"

About: Community mental health services / Recovery College

(as the patient),

For the past 22 years I have suffered with mental health issues. It wasn't until these last few years that my life really began. I started therapy at Springfield Hospital after I had finished, I was put in touch with Springfield Recovery College and this is where it started.

I started the courses that they provided and began to realize that, I am not just my mental illness, I gained knowledge and support from the team, they empowered me to be able to go to college and regain my life back.

I would like to thank Kelvin, Marian, Jeremy, Fiona and Lindsay for your guidance.

Above all my special thanks goes to Stella, I would not be where I am now with out you, without your support and continued support, your wisdom and knowledge, your down to earth approach, your sense of humor and most of all you believed in me.

So thank you all at Springfield Recovery college.

Dear freespirit705,

My name is Claire Reid and I am the Senior Patient Experience Co-ordinator for the Trust. I want to thank you for taking the time to post about your experience with the Recovery College.

We are so pleased to learn that you have found the Recovery College courses and staff support empowering. It sounds like they have been very valuable for you, and that is our intention. It is great to have such positive feedback and it does make it all worth while. I am happy to hear that you have been able to attend college and gain your life back

I will pass on your kind comments to the staff of the Recovery College, so they can see the positive effect they had, especially your kind message to Stella.

I wish you well with your continued recovery.

Best Wishes

Claire
