I suffer with Mental Health issues at a time I was unable to look after my son, this made me feel terrible. Sometimes I just needed someone to say it's ok, we all have a day where we don't feel well. I knew something was wrong, but needed support in accessing the services I needed. Having someone to help me with this made it easier and I started to feel like my old self again and I knew my son was getting support too! Mental Health is not talked about enough so it's scary when you realise you have a condition, talking about your fear and hopes help. I have been treated like a person and that helps sometimes. I felt as if people wern't listening to me, but realised that they needed to understand why I had come to their service in the first place. It can be frustration but just remember you will get there and just have hope and believe in yourself. I didn't have a childhood and didn't get the help I needed util I had my own son. He will now have the childhood I dreamed of and I am turning a negative into a positive. In years to come my son will say you have been through a lot but you made sure I was loved, safe, warm. You have been a good mum thank you.
