"access to education in the peaks, rampton hospital"

About: Rampton Hospital

(as a volunteer/advocate),

I am a patient at Rampton hospital on the peaks unit. I like the idea of patient opinion and changes that are made from our postings.

I would like more information on "open University courses" available and how to access them for people who are not literate.

I would also like better access to english sessions for people who can not read or write.

what are you intending to do? and when?

Thankyou for your posting regarding access to Education at the Peaks...It is encouraging to hear that you are keen to develop your literacy skills. The peaks patients are now able to attend the Acorn Education Centre in the main hospital so more opportunities will be available for study.

I will liaise with my Education colleagues to ask them about Open University Courses and also about access to improve literacy skills.

If you would like to approach me at the Peaks at your own convenience I will be very happy to discuss this with you personally.

It is encouraging to hear that more Peaks patients are accessing Acorn Education which includes literacy support. The Peaks patients also attend the Learning Recovery Zone where they are supported in self directed learning - this includes Open University Courses.
