My father was reaching the end of his life. After a couple of bouts of Noro virus tummy bug in the old people’s home he had lived in for two years or so he became unable to walk alone. Referred to Barrow Hospital acute ward, he made a slight recovery but his advancing vascular dementia meant he was increasingly enable to cope eating or drinking. The staff at the Langdale unit treated him with great care and real care and we felt he passed his last days in very loving surroundings. Dad passed away peacefully with us by his side feeling fully supported and upheld by all the medical staff.
