"Waiting time for abdomen ultrasound scan is unacceptable"

I went to Mayday University Hospital to the Howard Assessment Clinic. I had an interview with Dr Griffiths. He listened to me and answered all of my questions. He gave me options to consider and was very professional. He recommended an abdomen ultrasound and said that I should not do anything for eight weeks. I found this period of time unacceptable. I needed to know could it be something terminal? How could I just do nothing for eight weeks? I decided to pay and go private which was something that I could not afford, but, I felt that I could not wait the period of time that the hospital were offering me.
