I had an emergency appointment at the Opthalmology Department on Friday 10th February. I was seen immediately by the Orthoptist who examined me thoroughly and then sent me to the eye clinic. I was again seen immediately and further tests were performed. The doctors were a bit concerned that I may have suffered a small stroke so immediately arranged for me to see a Neurologist. We waited for the Neurologist to arrive sometime later and was examined by thoroughly by them - an appointment was then made for me to have a CT Scan as the doctor was afraid that there may have been a small bleed in the brain. The scan was performed within a very short time. We were then asked to wait for the results in the Celia Blakney wing as it was getting late and after hours. Everyone was so helpful and kind. Eventually the favourable results were given to me by a wonderful nurse and I was allowed to go home. It had been a really long day but I cannot thank the staff at the hospital enough for the care that was shown to me. The NHS gets a really bad press these days but I only have praise for the treatment I received. So a big, heartfelt thanks to all the consultants, doctors, nurses and staff at the William Harvey.
"A thank you for the wonderful treatment I received"
