So obviously cancer treatment isn't fun. It's a serious business and it's unpleasant for the patient, family and friends. However, as part of my treatment, I encountered a little ray of sunshine in the strangest of places.
I was really nervous about going for chemotherapy at the medical day unit in Wishaw. The fear of the unknown. But there was no need for me to be afraid. Gerry, Angela, Helen and the rest of the team really cheered me up. Their upbeat personalities and laughs are infectious! I found myself smiling and laughing through treatment.
I've finished now and it's weird to say this, but I'll really miss them. I mean obviously I never want to go back, but it's good to know that anyone else going to Wishaw for treatment will get the same amazing care that I got.
"Chemotherapy was a good laugh!"
