After being turned down by Tameside Hospital whilst in labour they referred me to Royal Oldham Hospital to give birth, I was a little upset as i didnt know much about the ward. On arrival the staff were lovely and welcoming. The cleanliness was brilliant and the room which i was allocated was amazing. The midwife explained where everything was and it really did feel like home from home. Unlike Tameside hospital whilst i was at Royal Oldham hospital they made me feel in control of the decisions. For example it was my decision when to start gas and air or any pain relief i was given a buzzer and whenever i pressed it the staff were there straight away. I had a member of staff with me all the way through who was absolutely amazing and made me feel comfortable from beginning to end. The actual birth of my son was made comfortable and when i was struggling to push they gave me alternative options last minute what really helped. I couldnt find any faults with this department of the hospital in any shape or form. I would recommend this service to everyone! Thank you so much!
