"My experience was one of being valued"

About: University Hospital Hairmyres / Cardiology University Hospital Monklands / Cardiology/Coronary Care Unit (Ward 18)

(as the patient),

In November, I suffered a fairly major heart attack. Once the emergency phase was over I came under the care of Dr Petrie. My experience was one of being valued and treated as a human being and not just another "case". When Dr Petrie said it was good to see me dressed normally (rather than in gown or pyjamas) he seemed truly to mean it. His letter to me promising further treatment began with a single sentence that was personal to me. It has been a delight to be treated by this gentleman; I know nothing of his professional competence (though I have utter and complete faith in it) but I believe I would have to go far to meet another physician with any more care for his patients. Thank you Dr Petrie.

Dear Celtic Twilight

Thank you for taking the time to post your experience of the care you received at Monklands Hospital. I appreciate being unwell and admitted to hospital is a frightening time. however Dr Petrie has assured you and given you confidence in the care you received. I'm sure Dr Petrie will be delighted to receive such positive feedback.

I hope you are recovering well from your heart attack.

Kindest regards

Ruth
