My mother in law was admitted with sepsis from an unknown cause and stayed in ward 25 for 3 weeks. She was on IV antibiotics, monitoring and various other tests until they discovered an abscess on her kidney. I just wanted to say that all the staff were fantastic and treated her with the utmost respect and care. She can get confused and gets worked up easily but they remained patient and calm with her. She was treated like a human being and as she got better so did the banter. I got the feeling that this isn't an easy ward to work in but we were always met with smiles and kept informed along the way. The NHS is criticised constantly but without it my mother in law might not be here. I would love it if the staff could get some recognition for their efforts, especially Jean as she really made the stay less traumatic with her care and wit. Her and her team are a credit to NHS Lothian. Thank you very much. X
