"Contacting hopsital"

About: Basildon University Hospital / Dermatology

I am extremely disappointed and also concerned that I have spent 2 days trying to get through to the hospital to change my dermatology appointment that I have for next week.

The main number 01268 524900 prompts me to enter the extension number- which on my letter is 2900 however this then goes dead and is never answered- I have held on for approx. 15-20 minutes at least 6 times a day over the course of yesterday and today.

I did manage to get through to new appointments hoping that they could help but was told this was not possible and that I need to speak to follow up appointment on the extension given. This is however proving impossible.

I have in vain also tried to get through to the main switchboard operator but this is not answered - an automated message states that there is no one available to answer.

I cannot spend any more time trying to get through as I am at work. I am sure however that if I do not arrive for my appointment next week ( which I cannot attend) I will be removed from the list and discharged as a non- attender. This is dreadful NHS service for patients by this hospital.
