My husband was out running when he was hit by a car and knocked to the ground. Understandably shocked and thinking he was bruised but not badly injured he walked to our local GP practice, Dunblane Medical practice. On telling the receptionist what had happened he was told to go to minor injuries - not once was he asked are you all right, how will you get there, can we do anything to help!
My husband walked home - 2miles and when I arrived home we went to A and E at Forth Valley where he was diagnosed with a broken shoulder.
As a healthcare professional, myself, I feel the lack of simple compassion at the GP practice was disappointing to say the least but it could also have been dangerous.
