"Heart attack patient"

About: Dorset County Hospital / Cardiology

I was admitted to this hospital on Sunday 28 May 2017. I had had a heart attack. I was terrified.

Not only did the A×E staff respond quickly and efficiently they helped me emotionally.

The care which I received from A+E through to the cardiac ward to having 2 stents inserted was out standing. The staff on Maud Alexander were brilliant especially a student nurse who showed so much compassion and professionalism, I felt so safe with them.

The cardiologist and team who completed the angioplasty were great. The cardiologist was so gentle. They did the procedure quickly and confidently

The cleaners and porters were down to earth and very entertaining. Good to have a laugh.

Altogether, a very scary medical emergency became a positive and safe experience.

Any thanks to all.

Dear Moira

I am so pleased to hear that what was initially a terrifying time for you became a positive and safe experience. Our staff do work hard to provide a safe and welcoming space for our patients, and it sounds like on this occasion they got everything right!

I hope that you are now recovering well from your heart attack; I will ensure that your very kind comments are passed on to the whole team, from Cardiology and Maud Alexander staff to Porters and Housekeeping. Thank you from us for taking the time to leave your comments, they are most welcome.

Best wishes,

Becky Protopsaltis
