"Biopsy at Nottingham QMC"

About: Nottingham University Hospitals NHS Trust - Queen's Medical Centre Campus

(as the patient),

I went into Queens Medical Centre, Nottingham for a biopsy. All the staff were pleasant, caring, and acted in a professional manner. Thanks particularly to Professor Scholefield and team.

An area that could have been better was, in the interest of better hygiene: toilet doors, drip stand and wash bowl could be disinfected. Floors, walls, bedside cabinets, tables, TV, beds and curtains were all kept very clean.

Most of the food was of reasonable quality, except the overcooked cabbage and fish (which were best avoided). The bread and butter pudding & fruit cake and custard were delicious!

One thing which annoyed me was that the radio would not work without paying for the TV. Also, perhaps patients who are admitted at night could be placed in a side ward & then transferred over in the morning, as this would let other patients sleep without disturbance.
