My Dad who is 89 receives dialysis at Glasgow Royal Infirmary and he mentioned to one of the Nurses his sister in law was a patient in the hospital and if he got off his machine early he was going to try and visit her before the ambulance takes him home.
He spends about four and a half hours at a time on dialysis and one of the nurses went and found out what ward his sister in law was in and arranged for someone to bring her down in a wheelchair to the dialysis unit so she could talk to him while he was receiving his treatment. He was absolutely delighted that they had done this for him and thanked them for doing so.
I also want to praise the staff in the dialysis unit nothing is ever too much of a problem to them and if it is they do not show it.
Regards.
