"Staff were fantastic, very caring and compassionate"

About: Royal Oldham Hospital / Maternity

(as a service user),

I came in yesterday for my planned section, car park meters don't accept the new pound coins which made us slightly late. Once in the hospital all the staff were fantastic, very caring and compassionate. Everything was explained to me clearly and all questions answered. The professionals at this hospital are fantastic at their job and I feel they are not correctly rewarded for this. Well done Royal Oldham.

one thing that could be improved however are the sleeping arrangements for partners.

Thank you for taking the time to leave your comments. It is good to hear that you found our maternity team to be caring and explained everything well to you.

I am sorry if you were caused any distress because you were delayed as a result of our car parking machine not accepting new pound coins. I have spoken to our car parking manager today about this problem. He reassures me that new machines, that accept new pound coins and also have the options to bay by phone, are being installed soon. This may make any further visits to our hospital easier for you in the future.

Thank you for taking the time to leave your previous comments. The car park now accepts the new pound coins and we are awaiting installation of pay by phone.

We welcome suggestions from women about improving our service and I want to take this opportunity to say thank you as we now have new reclining chairs for partners to sleep on.

In addition we have developed a ward information leaflet which available at each bedside, which includes guidance for partners staying over on the postnatal ward.Image title
