Firstly, echoing many other reviews, I want to start by saying how friendly, nice and helpful the Receptionist was I do hope she receives at least some recognition from her bosses for this.
I have a wound on my leg that will not seem to heal and which is in fact spreading i.e. the wound itself is getting larger and so is the area of pain. It is also leaking some of the foulest smelling liquid you can imagine, an obvious infection most people would assume, myself and a Doctor included.
I had already spoken to a Doctor by phone before attending who informed me I just needed to attend to get the wound cleaned, dressed and get some anti-biotics. That at least was the general idea. However the Nurses I spoke to obviously know a lot more than the Doctor or perhaps they just think they do. Despite the obvious they didn't feel it was an infection but wanted to refer me to a wound clinic whatever that is, I have no idea and will not be wasting even more of my time finding out.
In short I was just fobbed off with a phone number to some other clinic, what looks like a giant sanitary pad stuck to my leg wrapped in a huge tubi-grip bandage. Despite its awkward position of the wound on my left ankle and despite the fact I have nerve damage and reduced mobility in my left arm I could and have dressed it better myself numerous times.
I’ll just put up with the pain and the smell now I know it is not infected, It cannot be a Nurse told me so.
