"I felt so supported"

About: University Hospital Wishaw

(as the patient),

It was 3 days after giving birth and I had been up for most of the night breast feeding but my baby was not settling. My husband ended up giving him some formula to settle him. Feeling tired and very upset I called the breast feeding team at Wishaw and someone came over that day.

The person who came over was very reassuring and supportive despite me crying almost continually. She gave me lots of help with latching, breast pump and advice. I felt so supported and was called 2 days later to check up. I can not fault the service and baby is now feeding well which is all down to their help.

Hi Escott

Thanks you so much for taking time to feed back your experience of breastfeeding. I know that you will be having a very busy time at the moment caring for your new baby.

I am so glad that the breast feeding team could help you during this difficult moment with your feeding and they will be very happy knowing they managed to help you over this hurdle.

Well done for keeping going with your breastfeeding, I know it can be hard work at times but it sounds like you are doing really well. I hope everything keeps on going well and that you enjoy the time with your new baby.

Thank you once again for your feedback.

Best Wishes

Amanda
