"SVT ablation"

About: Wythenshawe Hospital / Cardiology

I would like to say a big thank you to all the staff that looked after me during my short stay. I was so frightened when I went in for an ablation procedure for SVT, but right from the word go everybody was trying to put me at ease, the surgeon came to see me and explained exactly what they would be doing. but unfortunately I was still very nervous. The procedure was a little uncomfortable, I was given sedation and painkiller but I have to be honest it still hurt, but nothing I couldn't stand, and the end result was so worth it when the surgeon told me it had worked and I wouldn't have any more episodes. The after care back on the ward was excellent they did everything they could to make me comfortable I was looked after mainly by a student nurse they were brilliant, explaining things to me and answering all my questions, so polite whenever they had to examine me. The only regret I have is that I didn't see them before I left to thank them so much for everything and to wish them luck in their finals, I would really like it if you could pass the message on to them. Once again a great big thank you to everybody. xx

Thank you for taking the time to post you kind comment on the NHS Choices website. Please accept our apologies for our delayed response to your comments.

We were pleased to read that you received a high standard of care and information prior to your treatment and that our staff were compassionate in their approach to your care. We understand that any visit to the hospital for care and treatment can be a very anxious time for our patients and it was good to know that you felt our staff did everything they could to keep you as comfortable as possible. It is always good to receive feedback which highlight the hard work and empathy of our staff. We will pass your feedback on to the Deputy Head of Nursing so that it can be shared with the wider team.
