My experience of the Bobby Moore unit was a shock as I had always been treated so well at Stepping Hill, after Kidney Cancer Surgery for removal of same and then discovery of bladder cancer for which I had radiotherapy at Christies after care by stepping hill urology.
I started experiencing haemorrhaging from my back passage, this was severe and have had to have Transfusions and Iron Infusions. After at least 18 months under the Bobby Moore unit I am just told it's due to Superior Vena Cava replacement I had over 40 years ago, this occluded after first year but in that time I had improvement and I had carried on an all but normal life.
I have several other medical conditions and am in severe pain and cannot walk without a stick and had many falls, my balance is very poor. None of this seems to bother the Doctor I see time and time again, waiting hours and weeks on end to try and sort my bleeding out. They just put it down to the SVC I had all those years ago.
I am a very strong minded person who has been destroyed to the point my GP wanted me to see a Psychiatrist. If they had dealt with me in the Bobby Moore unit instead of passing me off and then on to the Doctor handling my case now I would not feel so hopeless.
The first consultant who I never saw just passed me on at each appointment to the doctor I see now, who would always they she knew nothing, although slipped up a couple of times.
I am now 76 and I think they hope I will die and so endeth another old person.
