"Ward 212 Aberdeen Royal Infirmary"

About: Aberdeen Royal Infirmary / Orthopaedics

(as a service user),

I unexpectedly ended up in Ward 212 in Aberdeen Royal Infirmary and had to get 2 operations.  The shock was very difficult to deal with but the team in Ward 212 helped me deal with this emotionally. I particularly want to make 2 special mentions, the first is to the wonderful Carol who runs that Ward to such a high standard. She helped me gain my independence during my time there and by God she kept the ward tidy and ticking over to a high standard. Carol had such a good way in speaking with every patient including their visitor and just knew how to make things that bit more comfortable for them all. I think Carol deserves huge recognition for everything she does in that Ward because in my opinion she really does go over and above what is expected of her role. Thank you for looking after me Carol!

Secondly, a big thank you to the night doctor who was also so attentive to me. I didn't remember her name but I know she was from Bulgaria and she spent so much time with me to make sure I was OK. I am so deeply grateful and thank u for what u did.

Everyone were amazing, it can't be easy looking after strangers, but Ward 212 do it with ease

Thank you for taking time to respond on the care opinion website.

So glad to hear that the staff helped you emotionally on your first arrival to the ward as this would have been a very anxious time for you. The staff will be very grateful and delighted for your lovely response. In particular you have mentioned Carol in the way she worked to a very high standard of care and helped you gain your independence. Carol will be so pleased and greatful to hear that she has been mentioned personally.

The ward staff do strive to make sure we are delivering person centered care and your story demonstrates this very clearly.

I will pass on your big thank you to the night nurse doctor who was attentive to you on your admission.

Once again I would like to take this opportunity to thank you for such a wonderful story about your time spent in ward 212 and hope you are well on the mend now.
